Photography
"Il ne s'agit pas de copier la réalité, mais d'en créer une nouvelle,
comme nous le faisons dans nos rêves"
Aristotele
With an innate sociological understanding and the investigative approach acquired during my training in reportage photography and journalism, I have always been obsessed by looking for the truth and conveying what I find.
In the same way the Impressionists rebelled against The Academy, I tend to fight against all physical and ideological boundaries, as well as constraints of composition and form. I push my images towards abstraction while simultaneously enjoying the formal qualities of classical art, I record the world around me and decode it, creating a dreamlike Fauvist atmosphere. I develop my work in series mainly from life with an emphasis on color and natural light. Each photographic series is a physical or theoretical journey "beyond something", beyond that which is commonly seen. It is the result of my obsessive quest for freedom, energy and strong emotions.
